That Gary--What a guy! Not only is he sherpa, launderer, water purifier, packer, equipment manager, trail guide, cheerleader, and navigator, he is also the rescuer of his exhausted wife...sound asleep in a billiards room with her mouth hanging open. Diana, you paint the most interesting pictures with your words! I look forward to reading your blog every evening!

"Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get" ~ Forrest Gump, 1994.

Same with blog posts from Diana Telles on the Cotswold Way! Too, too 🤣 funny, that story of the cheese roll down the hill, and the townspeople rolling after it! Somehow it just doesn't seem fair that a German citizen won the contest two years in a row. Something as quirky as this should be limited to the locals. Press on Diana and Gary, you're nearing at halfway mark! 👏

“We really aren’t quite capturing that (the range of depth of the landscape) in our photos.” Really? I have been completely absorbed by the images you are sharing, and I find myself staring for endless minutes to take in all the detail. And the pic of the Cheese Chasers? Did anyone else notice the 6 folks all in the same “Space Man” outfit one of which is going ass over tea kettle? Sat here laughing my buns off! And not a roll of cheese to be seen! Thank you both for sharing such delights. And good on Gary for being Mr Everything Needed!

Today’s Pints & Pours:

Aspall Draught Cyder; Origin: Suffolk, England; Aspall has been crafting cider since 1728, blending traditional methods with a modern palate. Their Draught Cyder is a medium-dry, crisp cider made from bittersweet and culinary apples. It's known for its refreshing sharpness and clean finish, less sweet than many commercial ciders but still smooth and approachable.

Carling (Light Ale / Lager); Origin: Originally Canadian, now brewed in Burton-on-Trent, England; Carling is one of the UK’s most popular lagers, not technically a traditional ale. It’s a light-bodied, easy-drinking beer brewed by Molson Coors. Often the go-to choice when you’re seeking something mild, inoffensive, and low on hops, perfect for those avoiding the bitterness of IPAs or stronger British ales.

When I heard about your trip I thought, “What fun! My husband and I could do that.” Now, as I read your posts day after day I’m rethinking my endurance. I didn’t really factor that into my picture of a hike in the Cotswolds.
